Commissioned into the Indian Army in 1983, Lt. Gen. "Tiny" Dhillon served for nearly four decades across combat zones and senior command and administrative appointments — completing eight tenures in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations, six of them in the Kashmir Valley.
Career highlights:
- Director General, Defence Intelligence Agency under the Chief of Defence Staff, until superannuation in January 2022
- Commander, 15 Corps (Chinar Corps) on the Line of Control — through the Pulwama attack, the Balakot air strikes, and the abrogation of Article 370

- Alumnus of the National Defence Academy and National Defence College; holds an MSc, MPhil and PhD
